Expected Cutoff of RE-NEET 2026: Category-Wise Analysis
RE-NEET 2026 is over. Now every student has one question in mind — "How many marks do I need for a seat?"
The question of cutoff comes every year, and this year with RE-NEET it has become a bit more interesting. In this post, we will analyze category-wise expected cutoff.
Note: All these numbers are estimated. Check the exact cutoff on the official MCC website. For a personalized cutoff estimate, use the NEET College Predictor.
RE-NEET 2026 Expected Cutoff — Category Wise
In the table below, you can see the expected qualifying cutoff. These are the minimum marks you need to score in RE-NEET to take part in counselling.
Category | Expected Qualifying Cutoff (out of 720) |
|---|---|
General (UR) | 125 - 140 |
OBC-NCL | 115 - 130 |
SC | 105 - 120 |
ST | 95 - 110 |
EWS | 120 - 135 |
General-PwD | 120 - 130 |
OBC-PwD | 110 - 125 |
What Does This Cutoff Mean?
Qualifying cutoff means that if your marks are in this range or above, you can take part in counselling. It does not mean you will get a seat. You will need higher marks for a seat — the higher your score, the better your chance.

Trend Analysis
What changed over the years:
- **General cutoff dropped a little** — 164 in 2024, 148 in 2025
- **OBC/SC/ST also dropped** — Came down from 129 to 116 marks
- **Paper difficulty increased, so cutoff dropped** — Harder paper means lower cutoff
- **RE-NEET will follow a similar trend** — The expected range will follow the same pattern
RE-NEET vs Main NEET Cutoff — What Will Be the Difference?
The big question — will the RE-NEET cutoff be different from main NEET?
Short answer: No. NTA will apply the same cutoff for both exams.
Reason: NTA is taking the best score from both exams. So the cutoff will not be different. Your RE-NEET marks will merge with your main NEET marks and one single merit list will be made.
Confused? Do not worry. Score merging means your best score will count. So the cutoff will be the same as for main NEET.

Factors Affecting RE-NEET Cutoff 2026
Many factors decide the final cutoff:
1. Number of Candidates
The number of candidates in RE-NEET was less than main NEET. But the overall merit list includes main NEET candidates too. So competition has not reduced.
2. Exam Difficulty
You gave RE-NEET — you know the paper level. According to students, the paper was moderate to difficult. Physics had more numericals. Biology was straightforward.
- **Physics:** Moderate-Difficult
- **Chemistry:** Moderate
- **Biology:** Easy-Moderate
3. Number of Seats
The central government has increased MBBS seats for NEET UG 2026. Some new medical colleges have also opened. This may have a slight positive effect on the cutoff.
4. Previous Year Cutoff Trends
Trends show that the cutoff is slightly decreasing. But do not expect a big change.
How to Use Cutoff to Predict Your College?
After knowing the cutoff, the next step is to predict your college.
Step 1: Check Your Score
After the result, check your exact score. Based on that, you can filter colleges.
Step 2: Check Your Category
The cutoff for your category is different from general. Make a college list based on your category.
Step 3: Use the College Predictor
Manual calculation is complicated. The NEET College Predictor will suggest the best colleges based on your score. This tool:
- Uses previous year data
- Checks seat availability
- Does category-wise analysis
- Also considers state quota
Step 4: Prepare Backup Options
In high cutoff states, options may be limited:
- **Explore private colleges**
- **Check deemed universities**
- **Learn about management quota**

- **Next year preparation** — Try again
- **Alternative career paths** — BDS, Ayurveda, Homeopathy
