How to Understand Rank from the Scorecard?
All India Rank (AIR)
AIR is your position among all NEET candidates. In 2026, approximately 20-25 lakh students took the exam. AIR 1250 means you are in the top 0.5% of students.
Category Rank
Category rank is your position only among candidates of your category. Example:
- General candidate AIR = 5000
- OBC candidate at the same marks has OBC rank = 2000
- So category rank is always better than AIR
Percentile
Percentile tells you how many students you beat:
- 99 percentile → you scored more than 99% of students
- 90 percentile → you scored more than 90% of students
