RE-NEET 2026 Counselling: Process, Dates & Seat Allotment
RE-NEET 2026 exam is done. Now all eyes are on counselling. How will the counselling process work for RE-NEET candidates? What is different from main NEET counselling? Which score will be used?
This post will tell you everything about RE-NEET counselling — step-by-step.
What is RE-NEET Counselling?
RE-NEET counselling is the same MCC counselling that happens after main NEET. The only difference is that it uses the merged score of RE-NEET candidates.
NTA will take the best score from both exams — Main NEET 2026 and RE-NEET 2026. Then a merit list will be made based on that score and counselling will happen.
Who is Eligible for RE-NEET Counselling?
- Candidates who gave **RE-NEET 2026**
- Candidates who gave **both main NEET and RE-NEET**
- Candidates who gave only **RE-NEET** (if they missed main NEET)

What to do:
- Go to the MCC website
- Click on "New Registration"
- Enter your NEET/RE-NEET application number and password
- Fill in personal details
- Pay the registration fee
Registration Fee:
Category | Fee |

Step 2: Document Upload
Scan all your documents and keep them ready. Use JPEG or PDF format.

Tip: Make sure each document is not more than 200 KB. NTA's document upload limit is small.
Step 3: Choice Filling
This is the most important step. In choice filling, you select colleges and courses.
Tips for Choice Filling:
- **Put top priority colleges first** — The college you want the most should be at the top
- **More choices are better** — Fill at least 50-100 choices
- **Add both government and private** — Always have backup options
- **Add state quota too** — If you are eligible for state quota
- **Keep the right preference order** — Do not accidentally put a low priority college above
If you need help with choice filling, talk to our Expert Counsellors.
Step 4: Lock Choices
After filling choices, you must LOCK them. If you do not lock, choices from the previous round will be used.
Important:
- Choices cannot be changed after locking
- Do not forget to lock before the deadline
- A confirmation message will appear after locking — save it
Step 5: Seat Allotment
MCC will declare the seat allotment result. After the result:
- **If you got a seat** — You must do **reporting** and join the college
- **If you did not get a seat** — Wait for the next round
- **If you got a seat but had higher preferences** — You can take part in the next round
Check your seat chances using the NEET College Predictor.
Step 6: Reporting
You must go to the allotted college for document verification and fee payment.
Tips for reporting:
- Carry original documents with you
- Keep photocopies ready too
- Reach on time on the reporting date
- Arrange college fees in advance
- Check hostel details on the institute website
