Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for NEET Counselling

Candidates seeking admission through Himachal Pradesh NEET state quota counselling must fulfill the following eligibility requirements set by the counselling authority and the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Must have qualified NEET UG 2026 with the minimum required percentile: 50th percentile for General category, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC-NCL, and 45th percentile for General-PwD candidates.
Domicile requirement: Candidates must have a Himachal Pradesh domicile (at least 10 years) in Himachal Pradesh or be born in the state. Children of central government employees posted in Himachal Pradesh may also be eligible under certain conditions.
Age requirement: Candidate must have completed 17 years of age as of December 31, 2026. There is no upper age limit for NEET as per the latest NMC guidelines.
Educational qualification: Must have passed Class 12th or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually. General category candidates need 50% aggregate in PCB, while reserved category candidates need 40%.
HP domicile mandatory. Children of central government employees serving in HP are eligible if they have studied in HP for at least 5 years.
