Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2026

Authority: DMER Maharashtra

Maharashtra NEET counselling is conducted by DMER Maharashtra (Directorate of Medical Education and Research). The state offers medical education through 25 government medical colleges and 35 private medical colleges, providing a wide range of MBBS and BDS seats for eligible candidates. Maharashtra has the largest medical education infrastructure in India with premier institutions like Grant Medical College, Seth GS Medical College, and BJ Medical College Pune. The state has a well-organised centralised admission process through CET Cell with multiple rounds of counselling. Maharashtra has been at the centre of the Maratha reservation debate, which may impact seat distribution.

Students who have qualified the NEET UG 2026 examination and meet the state domicile and eligibility criteria can participate in the Maharashtra state quota counselling process. The counselling involves online registration, choice filling, document verification, and multiple rounds of seat allotment. It is essential for candidates to carefully review the information bulletin and adhere to all deadlines to secure admission in their preferred medical college.
